Wellbeing - Inclusion Area
Establish legal regulations in accordance with current provisions regarding inclusive education, equality, and non-discrimination applicable to all students, teachers, administrators, and staff of the different departments of the Polytechnic Faculty. Ensure effective compliance with laws. Likewise, promote responsible commitment to society and active participation in defense and the fight for diversity and human rights within the educational community.
Areas of Action and/or Services
- Implement an inclusive educational model at the Polytechnic Faculty of the National University of the East.
- Establish procedures for compliance with legal norms of educational inclusion and physical accessibility.
- Develop didactic materials for raising awareness and sensitizing the different actors of the educational community (informational brochures and posters-signage).
- Offer workshops for awareness and training in order to effectively implement the principles of inclusion, integrity, and equity.
- Create mechanisms for identifying students, graduates, teachers, and staff with disabilities and providing personalized follow-up.
- Provide personalized accompaniment to people with disabilities through visits and interviews with their families.
- Identify the context, realities, difficulties, and problems of the population with special educational needs.
- Facilitate and collaborate in the incorporation of technical aids or reasonable adjustments in the classroom, knowing the educational resources or supports that the student needs for academic integration.
